Fundamentals of Digital Photography
This course is aimed at students wishing to master the fundamentals of photography. It will give students the opportunity to learn photography using their digital cameras (DSLR or mirrorless), acquire the skills to use manual settings and use the different shooting modes available on their cameras.
The course is generally offered in the Fall semester and as an online offering during the 7-week Summer School session.
This class has helped me grow substantially as a photographer. I have a much better understanding of the functionality of my equipment and am able to visualize what I want a photo to look like, then achieve it (well, mostly achieve it). I am beginning to use light and shutter speed, working together, to create a specific look and feeling in an image (not just to achieve the correct exposure).

“The instructor was very articulate and accommodating, committed to the student’s success. She was able to bring the class together and make learning fun. This was probably the most enjoyable course I have ever taken (and I have credits from 7 colleges). ”
